LIFT Ministries, 2 organizations sponsor Bible for Inmates
LIFT Ministries teamed with two Dallas County organizations to sponsor the “Bibles for Inmates” drive this month.
24ent APP and Residential Alabama worked with LIFT Ministries CEO LaTanglia Williams in donating deodorant, socks, t-shirts and Bibles to inmates at the Dallas County Jail and adolescents at the Perry Varner Detention Center.
Williams believes that the Bible is the most effective gift among the donations.
“A Bible is the gift that keeps on giving,” Williams said. “When someone is incarcerated and they feel lost, hopeless and alone. But if they pick up a bible and read it, chances are they find strength and hope transforming the power of Jesus Christ.”
Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum praised Williams’ effort and said he was grateful for the donations.
“A lot of times when people go to jail, people forget about them,” Granthum said. “We’re not there to punish them, we’re there to house them. We appreciate the donations and Williams looking out for them.”
Dallas County Commissioner Curtis Williams praised his daughter.
“LaTanglia is a great young lady who cares about people,” Commissioner Williams said.
